Q. What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a 24-hour event that is known as the Global Day of Giving. It is celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is an opportunity for the High Point University family to celebrate our God, Family, and Country institution. This year, Giving Tuesday will be recognized on November 28, 2023, and our entire university community is encouraged to come together and invest in their passion at HPU!


Q. When is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, and the event will last from midnight to 11:59 PM.


Q. How can I participate in Giving Tuesday?

  • SHOW your passion on social media by using #givetuehpu.
  • SUPPORT your passion and spread the word to family and friends.!

Q. Can I give today? Will my early gift count for Giving Tuesday?

You can make your gift starting today and still be counted in our Giving Tuesday totals on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.


Q. What does the HPU Fund for Extraordinary Education support?

The HPU Fund supports the $75 million in scholarship assistance awarded to HPU students each year.


Q. Is my gift tax deductible?

High Point University is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts to the University are tax-deductible to the extent allowed under Federal Law and IRS tax code.


Q. I’m an HPU Faculty and Staff member. How can I make a qualifying gift for Giving Tuesday?

Click here to make a payroll or sustaining gift to the HPU Fund, a scholarship, program or area of your choice. To make a one-time gift online, click here. Gifts made between November 1, 2023 and November 30, 2023 will qualify for 25 Wellness points to be added to your account. Gifts may also be dropped off in Roberts Hall #320 or at one of our campus events on November 28.


Q. I’m an HPU Senior – does my gift on Giving Tuesday count towards the Senior Giving Campaign? How do I make a qualifying gift?

Giving Tuesday is a great time to make your senior gift for the year. For seniors, your gift impacts both Giving Tuesday and the Senior Giving Campaign. To make your senior gift visit our Senior Giving page.


Q. Is there a minimum gift?

There is a minimum donation of $5.00.


Q. How can I give?

You can make your gift through the Giving Tuesday website, by check, Google Pay, Apple Pay or Venmo. For assistance with a stock or wire transfer, please contact Institutional Advancement at (336) 841-9423.

Q. Can I make donations via mobile device?

Yes! Visit givetuehpu.highpoint.edu.


Q. How much of my gift goes to High Point University?

GiveGab (which is becoming Bonterra Tech) retains a 3% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving designation. All donations are final and cannot be refunded. Any donations processed outside of the Giving Day donation period through GiveGab.com, or subsequent recurring donations, are also subject to the transaction fees outlined above.
