Ambassador Communication Guide

We're bringing the Giving Tuesday festivities to social media! Engagement is key to our success on this day of generosity, and we want to hear your story.

Share how you support Giving Tuesday at HPU on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Be creative and post a graphic, write a status or create a video! Be sure to include #giveTUEhpu in your posts so followers and the HPU community can join the conversation.

Facebook How-Tos

  1. On the homepage, go to the status update bar and input your chosen caption. Make sure to include #giveTUEhpu and any related hashtags!
  2. Include a photo! Upload any Giving Tuesday graphic, photo or video.
  3. Tag @HighPointU and @HPUAlum using the 'Tag People' function at the bottom of the post window.
  4. Then post!

*** Share your story with a larger audience by engaging with fellow HPU community members on the High Point University Parents and Family page.

TIP: Add giveTUEhpu.highpoint.edu to your profile's bio a few days before Giving Tuesday. On your profile page, select the 'Edit profile' button, located underneath your profile photo. In the editing section, select 'Bio' and paste the link in the space provided.

Twitter How-Tos

  1. On the bottom right corner of the screen, click the blue circle with the plus sign (+).
  2. Input your chosen caption into the 'What's happening' section. Make sure to include #giveTUEhpu and any related hashtags!
  3. Tag the official HPU Twitter accounts (@HighPointU & @HPUAlum).
  4. Then tweet!

Instagram How-Tos

  1. Navigate to your profile page.
  2. Click the (+) button at the top right corner of the screen and select 'Post.'
  3. Select any Giving Tuesday graphic, photo or video, and then select 'Next.'
  4. Either edit your photo with a filter or select 'Next.'
  5. Input your chosen caption. Make sure to include #giveTUEhpu and any related hashtags!
  6. Select 'Tag people' and tag the official HPU Instagram accounts (@hpualum or @highpointu or @highpointpanthers).
  7. Then post!

TikTok How-Tos

  1. In the app, tap the plus (+) button located at the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Tap 'Upload' on the bottom right corner of the screen and select your chosen video. You can use our pre-made Giving Tuesday video or get creative with your own!
  3. Select 'Next' and then enter your caption into the allowed space. Make sure to include #giveTUEhpu and any related hashtags!
  4. Don't forget to tag the official HPU TikTok account, @highpointu.
  5. Then post!

Helpful Hints

  • Make a feed or story post. Whether it's a photo or video, show your followers what you are passionate about! Post a story or to your feed and tell us how you support HPU. Try using one of our official Giving Tuesday graphics from the Ambassador's Toolkit or create your own!
  • Use a hashtag. Using a hashtag unites your post with others. Try #GivingTuesday and #giveTUEhpu to join the celebration.
  • Tag High Point University. Tagging HPU will allow us to connect with you and share your experiences. Make sure you are following and tagging the accounts from our list of official HPU social media.
  • Include a link. Links are a direct path to information about HPU's Giving Tuesday and giving opportunities. Use engage.highpoint.edu/giveTUEhpu in your post, caption or bio so others can learn more!
